ruby might be…
someone’s real name, but probably not this someones. i decided to begin writing in a new place a new name and sans face. it’s not because i’m ashamed to have my face attached to these words, but i want it to be about the stories, uninfluenced by identity. i also wish to write about life events and the people i’ve met who have changed my life, molded me, awed me; without compromise to their privacy. i chose ruby because i think the name captures something about living, shining, learning, breathing, loving, and breaking; a little bit of the everything that can be found in ALL of us-
